City Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) Ceasar Pelaez thanked the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB-7) in region 7 for the garbage bins and trash bags which the latter donated to the City Government of Tagbilaran on March 11, 2022.
Provincial EMB Focal Persons Coralyn Estabillo and Jomalyn Laurito personally handed the donations to the city government.
City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha, Solid Waste Management Officer Joselito Taladua, and City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Estella Margate were also present during the turnover event.
Environmental protection has always been one of the priorities of the City Government. This can be seen in the intentional initiatives that were launched to secure the integrity of Tagbilaran City’s environmental assets.
The city initiated the safe closure of the open dumpsite in barangay Dampas which was successfully carried out last year, coupled with the establishment of the Centralized Materials Recovery Facility.
Tree planting activities were also carried out in the open spaces in the city, which includes the tree nurturing campaign in partnership with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) where 161 fully grown trees in containers were distributed throughout Tagbilaran in an effort to increase the city’s green cover.

In partnership with the World Outreach Foundation in Kansas City, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tagbilaran will offer free circumcision to all Tagbilaranons – 6 years old and above – on April 19 and 20, 2022 at the Saulog Gymnasium at the City Hall Compound.
Those who will undergo circumcision should be partially or fully vaccinated with the Coronavirus disease (Covid) vaccine.
The City Health Office (CHO) requires every patient to bring his vaccination card for authentication purposes, as well as the parents or guardians accompanying the child.
The CHO strictly enjoins everybody to observe the health and safety protocol like the wearing of face mask, washing of hands, and physical distancing.
The CHO team specifically trained to conduct the procedure under the lead of City Health Officer Dr. Jeia Pondoc will man the two-day activity.
For those who are interested, they may pre-register in their respective barangay health centers. This operation tuli program will be on a first come, first served basis.
