All That You Need to Know About Dental Fillings (Part 3)

Allow me to continue our discussion on dental fillings.

If the tooth decay has reached all the way to the root, the nerve must be protected to prevent inflammation.

For this instance, it is possible for the dentist to put in a liner made of composite resin or glass ionomer that helps protect the nerve inside the tooth.

If the tooth has been inflamed, a root canal procedure may be recommended by the dentist and a crown might be placed on it.

After the area has been suitably cleaned up, the filling is placed inside the tooth.

A patient will be asked to bite down on sanding paper to grind the filling out. The dentist will then polish it after it’s been placed unto your tooth.

It is also possible that the dentist is going to put in tooth-colored fillings inside the tooth.

We will continue our discussion on dental fillings in our next issue.
