Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO), Bohol Field Office, is organizing a charity run to raise funds for indigent veterans who are victims of the recent typhoon, Mario Blasabas told the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

Blasabas, Field Service Extension Office head of PVAO, added that the charity run coincides with the celebration of The Philippine Veterans Week from April 5 to 11, 2022.

There are three charity run categories, Blasabas bared.

The first category is a 3-kilometer run and walk for men and women. The second category is the 5-kilometer run for men and women and the third category is the 10-kilometer run for men and women.

All participants will be starting off at Plaza Rizal fronting the St Joseph Cathedral, the PIA report mentions.

Since the event is intended to raise funds for indigent veterans, race participants need to shell out P250 as registration fee for the 3-kilometer event, P350 for the 5-kilometer race and P500 for the 10-kilometer category, the extension office head said.

All participants have to pre-register on or before April 7, 2022, to be considered in the race.

Runners need to be at the race’s start venue at 4:00 a.m. on April 7, 2022 for the distribution of race numbers and meal stubs.

Prizes will be awarded to top three winners in each category, Blasabas said.

At stake are P700, P400 and P250 as well as a medal each for the 3-K winners, P1000, P700 and P500 as well as medals for the 5-K winners and P2,000, P1,500 and P1,000 with medals for the 10-K run winners.

All first placers for each category would also receive P100 Globe cell card as additional prize.

The charity run is just one of the activities lined up for the nationwide commemoration of the Philippine Veterans Week.
