In the past two years, celebrations like the Saulog became an impossibility. This year, it is a different story for Tagbilaran City as the Saulog Festival King and Queen tilt is set to unfold.

Tagbilaran City which is now under Alert Level 1 aims to celebrate the talent, creativity, faith, and resilience of the Tagbilaranon, captured in the myriad of activities listed for Saulog including the search for Saulog Festival King and Queen.

City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II emphasized that the health protocol will be strictly enforced in the conduct of the in-person activities during Saulog including the Saulog Festival King and Queen tilt.

“Participants in this month-long [Saulog] celebration are only those fully-vaccinated. The organizers were also given clear instructions to implement the standard health protocol such as the wearing of face masks, washing of hands, and physical distancing. We believe that it is just fitting to embrace the new normal by doing our usual activities with caution,” Mayor Yap said.

The Saulog King and Queen Festival will showcase the talents of local artisans and fashion designers.

Tagbilaran City First Lady Jane Yap conceptualized the idea of making the Saulog King and Queen Festival into a platform where Tagbilaranon artists will be given the chance to showcase their creativity and talent.

Led by local fashion designer Charlow Arbasto who is the image stylist for the Saulog Festival King and Noel Bompat Estopito who is the image stylist for the Saulog Festival Queen, the Saulog Tagbilaran 2022 Executive Committee has provided an opportunity for local designers to showcase their array of fashion designs.
