BCCI stages mayoralty candidates’ forum

The Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) will be staging a forum among the mayoralty candidates here in Tagbilaran City.

This was revealed by Reginald Ong, president of BCCI, in a letter sent to The Bohol Tribune dated April 11, 2022.

The Candidates’ Forum will be conducted on April 19 and 20, 2022 at Metro Center Hotel from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.

“This is the BCCI’s traditional pre-election event called ‘Your Voice, Our Choice’. This is an advocacy affair intended to inform and educate the electorate of the candidates’ qualifications, platform and plans of government and stand regarding certain important issues. The BCCI has been holding this forum over several election periods, spanning almost 20 years,” Ong said in his letter.

He added: “A key feature of the activity is the Question and Answer portion which may cover the following  topics: recovery and development plans after Covid and Odette including key sectors like  investment generation, resiliency, protection of the environment including waste  management, preservation of culture, traffic management and good governance. “

Ong continued: “Due to current challenges, the format of the event this time will involve online platforms thus avoiding large crowds. The forum will be streamed live on FB and radio stations. We will only be inviting a limited number of individuals, mostly coming from media.”
