LTO processes student permits at City Hall Atrium

More than 1,500 student permits were processed by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) at the City Hall Atrium on April 11, 2022. 

LTO Administrative Aide VI Jean Alnic Collamar said that after the Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) at the Bohol Wisdom School, the student permits are now processed and released.

After the TDC completers presented the needed documents, a provisionary student permit is released on site.

According to Memorandum Circular 2019-2176 implemented by the LTO, each student permit applicant requesting for a driver’s license is required to undergo a 15-hour theoretical driving course (TDC) under certified instructors.

The course is divided into three sessions and will cover everything from traffic regulations to LTO mandated special laws. The TDC must be completed within two years from the day an applicant started the course. The curriculum is divided into classroom/theoretical instructions and actual driving sessions.

More than 2,000 Tagbilaranons get their passports

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) National Office set up an office at the City Hall Atrium to process more than 2,000 passport applications, according to the City Media Bureau.

Tagbilaran Public Employment Services Officer (PESO) Marck Cipriane Borja said 16 staff members of the DFA Mobile Passporting Team from Manila manned the processing of the passports.

The City Government revived its commitment to bring the service closer to the Tagbilaranons by conducting the mobile passporting service in cooperation with the DFA.

City Mayor John Geesnell YapII personally thanked DFA Assistant Secretary Frank Cimafranca, who is a Boholano, for bringing the ease and convenience of the mobile passport service to Tagbilaran.

“The pandemic has gravely affected our mobility. This passport service is crucial. Aside from being safe, our constituents will be able to save money needed for travel, transportation, and meals. Also, this service is convenient and is beneficial to our [overseas Filipino workers] OFWs who are renewing their passport or to those who are applying for jobs abroad and for professionals who do not have the time to go to Cebu or Manila. In other words, we have brought quality service with greater ease and convenience to our people,” Mayor Yap said.
