Guv presents key points of his platform of gov’t during Candidates’ Forum 2022 of BCCI

Gov. Arthur C. Yap

Gov. Arthur Yap presented his platform of gov’t in his reelection bid in the Candidates’ Forum 2022 organized by the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

He was the lone gubernatorial candidate who attended  the said forum.

Yap answered questions posed by the members of the BCCI during the Candidates’ Forum 2022 at the Metro Centre Hotel on Apr. 20, 2022.

Yap’s chief contender, Cong. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, decided to skip the forum.

Aumentado opted to meet various sectoral representatives at his home in Dauis instead of attending the forum.

Another gubernatorial bet, Hercules Castillo, was unable to attend the said event.

Castillo is an independent candidate for governor.

A fourth person filed a certificate of candidacy for governor, identified as Concepcion Flores, reportedly passed away in March 2022.

This information was confirmed by Commission on Elections official Rafael Montoya in a report.

Flores’ name will stay in the ballot and votes cast for her will be considered stray votes, the official explained.

During the forum, the governor pointed out the areas of health, food security, livelihood and agriculture sector support, among others as his priorities when he gets reelected as governor of Bohol in the May 2022 polls.

The governor said that the forum organized by the BCCI is an important avenue to let the people know about the platform of government of the candidates running for public office next month.

He stressed that he was the only bet who respected the invitation of the local business group and attended the forum which is an opportunity for him to present his platform.

“Ako ra ang naghatag ug respeto sa katungod sa tanang Bol-anon nga mahibaw-an ang plataporma,” he said in his opening statement during the forum.

Meanwhile, all five candidates in the mayoralty race in Tagbilaran City appeared in the morning session of the Candidates’ Forum 2022 on Wednesday.

Survey frontrunner Tagbilaran City First Lady Jane Yap was joined by former Mayor Dan Neri Lim, Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso, Coun. Vicente Polinar and Salvio Makinano in the said session of the forum.

The five mayoralty contenders took turns in answering questions about issues that concern the welfare of the lone city of Bohol and its residents.

The BCCI conducted the Candidates Forum 2022, which is the organization’s traditional “Your Voice, Our Choice” pre-election event.

It is an advocacy intended to inform and educate the electorate of the candidates’ qualifications, platform, plans of government and stand regarding important issues affecting the Boholanos.

The BCCI hosts the said forum every election year.
