Tourist transport magnate’s success story becomes sweeter with daughter’s achievement at Bar exams

ATTY. GEVIENA PINKY SARMIENTO

A Boholana lawyer achieved success despite adversity, which mirrors the story of her mother who from a nobody has become a somebody in Bohol’s tourism industry.

Atty. Geviena Pinky Sarmiento or Atty. Pinky Sarmiento’s achievement in the Bar examination only made Elvieh Sarmiento’s success story much sweeter.

Atty. Pinky Sarmiento is among the 8,241 new lawyers who passed the 2020-2021 Bar Examinations that were given on Feb 4 and 6, 2022.

Despite her latest achievement, it was not given to Atty. Pinky Sarmiento in a silver platter. She had to endure trials like growing up without a father, and relied on her mother, Elvieh, for support and guidance.

Elvieh Sarmiento’s husband died when Atty. Pinky was at a young age.

Atty. Pinky Sarmiento’s success at the Bar examinations comes as no surprise as she has shown brilliance throughout her academic life.

Furthermore, Atty. Pinky Sarmiento  was a consistent top 10 placer in her class during her preparatory days at the former Divine Word College, which is now known as Holy Name University (HNU).

She again proven her mettle as she excelled and constantly made it to the Top 10 list of her class at the University of Bohol (UB) and HNU during her elementary days.

It was the same scenario when Atty. Pinky Sarmiento studied high school at the UB as she graduated as a salutatorian.

Atty. Pinky Sarmiento  graduated college at the HNU with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Financial Management with honors.

She went on to obtain a Juris Doctor degree from the HNU College of Law, where she was included consistently in the Dean’s List during her entire stay in Sarmiento law school.

As a student, Atty. Pinky Sarmiento received numerous awards, according to mother Elvieh in a text tourism transport industry in Bohol.

Elvieh Sarmiento juggled the role of mother and father to her children, after her husband, Gabriel died.

As a result of Elvieh Sarmiento’s efforts, she was able to produce Love Sarmiento who is a registered nurse and licensed physical therapist; May Sarmiento who graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Tourism; and Atty. Pinky Sarmiento who is now a lawyer.

Today, Atty. Pinky Sarmiento’s success at the Bar is somewhat similar that of her mother’s triumph which something that worth emulating by others.

Elvieh Sarimiento’s LVTRANSPORT is not just an ordinary transport company but has become one of the pillars supporting Bohol’s tourism industry as it recovers from the effects of the pandemic and other calamities that hit Bohol.
