SP mourns BM Elpidio Jala’s passing 

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol (SP), led by Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos, is mourning over the passing of the late 3rd District Board Member (BM) Elpidio Jala.

BM Jala died on Monday, May 2, 2022, after being treated and confined in the hospital due to complications of an illness.

He was 77.

Relampagos has expressed his profound sadness over the loss of a colleague and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

“The 28th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, led by yours truly, Vice Governor Rene Relampagos, mourns the loss of our dear colleague, Dr. Elpidio Jala, who has joined our creator yesterday afternoon [Monday, May 2]. The Provincial Board as well as my family would like to extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved family,” Relampagos said on a Facebook post.

BM Jala was a former educator and former Schools Superintendent of the Department of Education (DepEd), Division of Bohol.

As an educator, Dr. Jala became president of Bohol Public School Teachers Association, Philippine Elem. School Principals Association-Bohol chapter, and School District and Division Superintendents.

Moreover, Jala had served at the Education Department for 44 years before entering politics.

He became a Provincial Board Member of the 3rd District of Bohol in 2013 up to his death.
