Things You Need to Know about Tooth Abscess (Part 2)

The symptoms of tooth abscess include fever, a bad taste in your mouth, and pain.

The patient may also have a bad smelling breath.

There are three types of abscesses: periapical, periodontal, and gingival. They are related to infections from the patient’s gums as well as the pulp of his/her teeth.

Usually, the treatment of dental abscess may involve the root canal therapy.

The priority is to reduce the infection or at the very least isolate it to be removed later.

To minimize the pain caused by the abscess, it is best to avoid cold drinks and food. It is also best to use a toothbrush with a soft-bristle. Moreover, the dentist may recommended painkillers, but these will only offer temporary pain relief.
Next week we will be making a deep dive on the signs and symptoms of tooth abscess.
