Presumptive President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has chosen Arsenio Balisacan as the new National Economic and Development (NEDA) chief, according to incoming Executive Sec. Vic Rodriguez.
Balisacan led the NEDA during the administration of the late former President Benigno Aquino III.
Balisacan was partly commended for remarkable performance of the Philippine economy from 2010 to 2016, where the country’s economy reached 6.2%. The highest growth rate in 40 years, according to reports.
Balisacan is the first Marcos Jr. appointee who also worked under the 2nd Aquino administration.
