CSWO distributes P5K cash aid to typhoon victims
About 256 beneficiaries from the city’s 15 barangays each received the P5,000 financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWD) thru its local counterpart, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWO) on May 20, 2022 at barangay San Isidro covered court, the report from the City Media Bureau reveals.
City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II along with Barangay Kagawad Emilio Simbajon attended the aid distribution.
Mayor Yap thanked the DSWD for the assistance extended to some of the city’s residents.
“This would definitely help the recipients in their financial needs and could even provide start-up capital for setting up a small business,” Mayor Yap said.
According to DSWD, a second payout for the next batch of beneficiaries is to be scheduled soon.

23 OSYs in Tagb complete TESDA program
About 23 Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) online program learners completed the Pathways Orientation for Youth, Career Talk, and Higher-Level Education Readiness and Training Orientation for Up-Skilling and Multi-Skilling program, a report from the City Media Bureau says.
The learners will soon move up to higher level programs including the work-ready training, peer coaching, and post-training opportunities, the same report adds.
The City Government of Tagbilaran through the City Youth Development Office (CYDO) partnered with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Opportunity 2.0 for this program.
USAID Opportunity 2.0 is a five-year initiative spanning 2020 to 2025, aimed in improving the learning and earning outcomes of out-of-school youth (OSY) by working with key stakeholders from government, industry and academia.
The initiative is geared to strengthen the education, training and employment systems at the national and local level., which includes Department of Education’s (DepEd) enhanced Alternative Learning Systems program, TESDA’s skills training programs, and local government programs for the youth.
The Tagbilaran CYDO thanked the City Mayor’s Office for the use of the Tagbilaran City College as venue of the learning sessions.
The CYDO also thanked the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for providing the career talk panelists, the report bares.
