The Department of Agriculture (DA) through its Regional Field Office (RFO)-7 provided a P51 million monolithic dome rice seed storage to Bohol, according to reports from the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).
The DA said the construction of the said structure situated at the Ubay Stock Farm was completed in just 25 days and now able to store seeds not only from Bohol but from neighboring provinces as well.
The said facility was inaugurated on June 1, 2022, the PIA report says.
The DA tapped the firm Dazzling Lite to build the monolithic dome rice seeds storage facility situated at barangay Lomangog, Ubay.
With this faciliry, it would be easier for the DA to distribute rice seeds to beneficiaries, according to rice technician Cecilio Opada.
The facility has climate-control to ensure that the quality of the stored rice seeds is maintained, the reports add.
