“Top Gun: Maverick” at Screenville Cinemas

More than 35 years after the original “Top Gun” in 1986, Tom Cruise reprises his iconic role as top aviator Maverick now training a younger generation of fighter pilots in the long-awaited sequel, “Top Gun: Maverick”, now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

Over three decades after the events of the first film, Capt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell returns to the “Top Gun” program of the US Navy, serving as a test pilot and trainor of a squadron of elite pilots who are assembled for a special mission to destroy a uranium enrichment facility of a rogue nation.
The target is located within the steep end of a mountainous canyon, highly defended by surface-to-air missiles (SAM). As it requires a risky high-speed approach in the canyon, beneath hostile radar coverage,          Maverick prepares the pilots in all mission aspects, including basic fighter maneuvers and precision-guided munitions deployment. But Maverick confronts the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice.
