Boholano swimming prodigy bags silver in PNAG

Boholano swimming prodigy Victoriano Martin Adiong Tirol IV bagged a silver medal in the 50 meter freestyle at the Philippine National Age Group (PNAG) championships held at the Teofilo Yldefonso Swimming Pool inside the Rizal Memorial Complex from May 27-29, 2022.

The 17-year-old Tirol IV, who is also known as Renzo, showed his prowess in the freestyle even if he is known to be more proficient in breaststroke.

He garnered the 2nd place out of 88 entries in the 17 to 18 age group, according to reports.

He was able to eke a time of 24.96 seconds enough for him to capture 2nd place.

Tirol IV was narrowly edged out for the gold medal by the favorite Fil-Am Ruben William White by 1.03 seconds, which is quite impressive considering White is a year older than Tirol IV.

More impressive is the fact that Tirol IV managed to outswim several Fil-Am swimmers in his age-group showing that he has a bright future as one of the rising stars of Philippine swimming.

Moreover, Tirol IV is a product of the University of Bohol (UB) Victoriano D. Tirol-Advanced Learning Center (VDT-ALC), and has represented his school in several swimming meets.

The PNAG competition was organized by the Philippine Swimming Inc. (PSI)

PSI is the national governing body that handles swimming, diving and water polo.
