International flights resumed at the Bohol Panglao International Airport (BPIA) after Jeju Air landed on Friday, June 3, 2022, reports mention.
This marks the return of flights from abroad after getting halted due to the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic, reports bare.
Personnel from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) witnessed the arrival of 7C4407 from Incheon, South Korea.
The said flight had 167 passengers, reports say.
The same flight left Bohol also on Friday bound for South Korea, reports add.
At present, the BPIA caters to domestic flights operated by Air Asia Philippines, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines.
“With renewed optimism amid persisting challenges, BPIA hopes that reopening the Philippines’ borders after the COVID-19 crisis will be a turning point in the aviation industry and for the country’s economy,” CAAP Area VII manager Rafael Tatlonghari was quoted in a report.
