Heavy rains cause landslide at Makapiko Bridge

Catigbian mayor Elizabeth Mandin Pace

Reports say that a landslide occured at the bottom portion of the Makapiko bridge affecting the approaches of the said structure, according to Catigbian mayor Elizabeth Mandin Pace who relayed the information to The Bohol Tribune.

This comes as Bohol experienced heavy rains on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

According to dyTR’s Kevin Jhon Pintado the riprap at the bottom area of the bridge was damaged as a result of the heavy rains.

The bridge is located near the boundary of the towns of Catigbian and Batuan.

Moreover, Pintado said there are no casualties reported as the local government unit of Catigbian already conducted an inspection to determine the extent of the damage caused by the landslide.
