The Tagbilaran City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) announces that it has acquired 2 new pieces of equipment that can be used to locate victims trapped or buried underneath collapsed or fallen buildings, structures including those caused by landslides.

This was the information shared by the said agency headed by Gerard Lavadia, on June 8, 2022.

The report said the CDRRMO acquired a vibraphone and a vibrascope.

“Both equipment are used for locating victims trapped or buried under collapsed structures and landslides,” the report adds.

The vibraphone locates victims with the use of sound vibrartions, the report explains.

Moreover, the vibrascope allows rescuers to see in dark areas to make rescue efforts easier, the same report mentions.

The said pieces of equipment are now assigned to the search rescue and retrieval unit of the CDRRMO, the report bares.
