The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) released a list of 36 Bohol towns
which are going to get additional funding from the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive
Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) program until 2023, a report from the
Philippine Information Agency says.
The towns included in the list are Lila, Dimiao, Sevilla, Batuan, San Isidro, Anda, Pilar, Alicia,
Dagohoy, Danao, San Miguel and Bien Unido for group 1.
For group 2, the towns in the list are Loon, Calape, Tubigon, Clarin, Inabanga, Buenavista, Getafe,
Talibon, Trinidad, Bien Unido, Ubay, Mabini, Alicia, Candijay, Duero, Jagna, Garcia Hernandez,
Dimiao, Loboc, Sierra Bullones, Bilar, Batuan, Carmen, Catigbian and Balilihan.
The towns which are not in the DSWD’s list are Panglao, Dauis, Tagbilaran City, Cortes, Corella,
Baclayon, Alburquerque, Sevilla, Sikatuna Cortes and Antequera.
According to DSWD Bohol Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) chief Jimmy Crusio, the
agency based the inclusion of the towns in the list on two criteria.
He cited poverty incidence in the listed towns as one of criteria and the impact of disasters on
a certain town, as the other criterion.
The towns included in the list have a poverty incidence rate of 21% or higher
according to Philippine Statistics Authority ‘s 2015 Small Area Estimates, he explained.
Areas in Bohol badly impacted by disasters from 2014 to 2020 and areas hardest hit by the
Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic are among those included in the list, the report bares.
The government, through the DSWD Kalahi- CIDSS, allocated P776,094,200 for the 196 sub
projects identified by the Communities for Disaster Risk Reduction Management.
Some 49 sub projects have so far, been completed, the DSWD reports.
