The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved during its last regular session on June 7, 2022, a supplemental budget ordinance; aimed primarily on providing additional aid to barangays.
This was confirmed by Board Member Ricky Masamayor during a telephone interview with
The Bohol Tribune on June 9, 2022.
He said that Appropriation Ordinance No. 2022-009 was finally approved by the said august body after the three reading rule was suspended.
This means that the said appropriation ordinance is going to be submitted to Gov. Arthur Yap
for his signature so that it can become a full-fledged ordinance, according to Masamayor.
The ordinance allocates P37 million, of which, P27 million is for the additional P25,000 aid to
be given to all 1,109 barangays in the entire province of Bohol, Masamayor explained.
Moreover, Yap, in a speech during the provincial congress of the Liga ng mga Barangay, on
May 23, 2022, bared that he asked the SP to pass an appropriation ordinance granting an additional P25,000 aid for barangays.
All barangays in Bohol already received P25,000 in aid for this year and the new approved ordinance provides another P25,000 aid to each barangays in 2022.
This means the total aid given to barangays for this year is P50,000 each, Masamayor added.
The said appropriation ordinance also provides funds for the rehabilitation of Cortes Level III Municipal Water System in Cortes and the grant of 2021 Service Recognition Incentive for additional qualified personnel of the Provincial Government of Bohol based on the directives of the Department of Budget and Management.
Meanwhile, Masamayor said that the SP also approved Ordinance No. 2022-010 which allots a portion of the lots owned by the Provincial Government of Bohol located in Banat-i Hills, barangay Bool, Tagbilaran City, which will be used for the Regional Cultural Hub.
