Suspect surrenders after stabbing incident

The suspect in a stabbing incident in Baclayon surrenders to the authorities , according to reports.

As this developed, reports add that the relatives of the stabbing victim said they are seriously considering to file frustrated murder charges against the suspect.

Staff Sgt. Neil Sumaoy of Baclayon police station told The Bohol Tribune that the suspect Metodio Sarong, 44, of barangay San Roque, Baclayon is now under police custody.

Sumaoy allegedly stabbed Peddy Estoque, 37, also of barangay San Roque, Baclayon.

Initial investigation revealed that the incident happened on the evening of June 13, 2022 at barangay San Roque, Baclayon.

Furthermore, it was revealed that the suspect confronted the victim where the former asked the latter to return a borrowed bolo. The victim reportedly borrowed a bolo from the suspect.

The suspect got mad after learning from the victim that the latter allegedly sold the bolo borrowed from the former.

The suspect was unable to control his emotions and stabbed the victim in a fit of rage using a bolo that the former was carrying at that time of the incident.

The victim was stabbed in the left part of his torso. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and remains in critical condition, as of this writing. (Joshua Fullido)
