Police probe shooting incident involving Panglao councilor’s driver

The Panglao police are currently investigating the shooting incident involving the

driver of a town councilor. This driver was hurt following a shooting incident at barangay Bolod, Panglao on the evening of June 15, 2022, according to reports.

The police are also determining the identity of the suspect, the report adds.

The victim was identified as King Philip Ballibas, a native of Pilar town, currently residing at barangay Bolod. He is the driver of Coun. Amira Alia Montero-Caindec.

Based on the initial investigation of the police, the victim was with a companion having a drinking session at a local store.

While the victim and one other person were drinking, the suspect suddenly arrived at the scene and shot the victim thrice.

The victim, reportedly, sustained a gunshot wound at the left thigh.

After the incident, the suspect immediately fled from the crime scene using a motorcycle, according to reports.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and now in stable condition. (Joshua Fullido)
