The new Tagbilaran City police station chief got installed in simple ceremonies on June 17, 2022 at the Saulog gymnasium.
Lt. Col. Regie Real replaces Lt. Col. Mary Crystal Peralta. Real was a former chief of the police community relations of the Police Regional Office 7.
Peralta ends her tour of duty after 2 years in Tagbilaran City. She was installed as the first lady police chief of Tagbilaran City back in May 2020.
During her term, the Tagbilaran City Police Station (TCPS) was named as the best police station in the component city category during the 120th Police Service Anniversary at the PRO7 headquarters in Cebu City on Oct. 13, 2021.
Moreover, Peralta herself was adjudged as the Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Region 7. During her tanure as TCPS chief, Peralta was able to roll out a number of projects that benefited the community including Barangayihan, construction of community comfort room for the Muslim community in the city and other projects.
Peralta is now assigned at the Police Regional Office-7, in Cebu City, particularly with the Regional Community Affairs Development Division.
On the other hand, Real, 47, a native of Cagayan Valley, is a member of the Kabalikat Class of 1998 of the Philippine National Police Academy.
Her previous assignments were in La Union and the support unit of the intelligence group, she was also the deputy chief of po
lice in Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, among others. She has been in the service for 26 years.
“I will retain yung mga naging projects ng outgoing CoP, and then everyday tignan natin anu ung pwde natin idadagdag na projects,” Real told reporters after the turnover ceremony. (Joshua Fullido)
