Art insists PGBh has no P2B loan

Former Gov. Arthur Yap insists that the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) has no P2 billion loan, as being spread by some sectors.

The former governor said this during his final guesting as Bohol’s chief executive over Open Forum on June 28, 2022, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

He reiterated that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved a combined P2 billion credit line with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and this remains untapped, contrary to what critics are saying.

The credit line can be used for various water projects in the province, he quipped.

“We don’t have a P2 billion loan. Tungod kay this is another fake news nga gipangsabwag sa panahon sa eleksyon,” he mentioned during the interview.

Meanwhile, he also said there is no truth that the funds for P5,000 cash aid coming from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) were already downloaded and allegedly placed on hold for political purposes.

“This P5,000 na ayuda gikan sa DSWD, dili na programa sa Provincial Government ug wala tay nadawat na P5,000,” he said during the interview.

However, the former governor received P100 million on Mar. 21, 2022 from Malacañang but had to defer the distribution of the funds due to the election ban.

The P100 million in funds came from the office of President Duterte as facilitated by Sen. Christopher Go, sourced from the Presidential Social Fund, Yap explained.

The funds will be distributed to those whose homes got destroyed by typhoon Odette. The task of distribution of the funds will be undertaken by the administration of Gov. Erico Aristole Aumentado, Yap said in the radio interview.
