Chatto reminds public that Covid is far from over

Cong. Edgar M. Chatto

Rep. Edgar Chatto reminds the Boholano public that the Coronavirus disease (Covid) threat is far from over.

This was the statement of the solon in a radio interview over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa on July 5, 2022 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

“Mao na ang atong gi-ingon nga, wala pa mahuman ang Covid. We have to remind everyone nga ang atong pagsunod sa mga protocol kinahanglan ato gihapong himuon kay pila lang ka lungsod ang anaa sa level 1. Ang ubang mga lungsod sa Bohol, level 2. Sa ato pa, naa gihapon ang risgo,” Chatto said in the same interview.

According to reports areas in Bohol under Alert Level 1 are: Batuan, Calape, Corella, Dimiao, Duero, Garcia Hernandez, Jagna, Lila, Loay, Loboc, Maribojoc, San Isidro, San Miguel, Sevilla, Sikatuna and Tagbilaran City while all other areas in Bohol are still under Alert Level 2.

Moreover, Chatto said that while the province already hit the herd immunity, the vaccination rate among the senior citizens remains low.

“Although medyo relaxed na ang panahon karon, let us not be too confident,” he quipped during the interview.

He urged those who have yet to get vaccinated against Covid to get their jabs as soon as possible.

The solon suggested to the new administration at the Capitol to reactivate the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) to evaluate the situation and look for ways to control the situation.

The Covid cases in Bohol have risen to 30 cases as of July 7, 2022 from a low of only a case recorded on May 31, 2022, based on the data of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) of the BIATF.
