President Marcos Jr. tests positive for Covid

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles announced to the media that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. tested positive for Coronavirus disease (Covid) via a rapid antigen test.

Angeles said Marcos Jr. had a slight fever: The close contacts of the president, including Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez tested negative for Covid.

As a result, Marcos was not able to attend Friday’s celebration of the US Embassy of the 246th independence anniversary of the United States, the press secretary added.

He will deliver a virtual message in the meeting of the leagues of governors and mayors, Cruz-Angeles added.
