Gov. Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado presided over an emergency stakeholders meeting on African Swine Fever (ASF) and Avian Influenza (AI) on July 4, 2022 at the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) Conference Room, reports from the Capitol said.

The meeting is an offshoot of reports of confirmed cases of ASF in nearby province of Camiguin
After the briefing conducted by Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Stella Marie Lapiz, the 

governor immediately issued an executive order, which creates the ASF and AI Provincial Executive Committee and Task Forces effective July 4, 2022.
The governor also ordered the immediate hiring of additional quarantine inspectors 

who will be stationed at the Bohol Panglao International Airport and at the various sea ports all over the province.
The local chief executive also gave orders to contract additional sniffing dogs to detect 

the presence of pork products in various seaport and the lone airport in the province.
Moreover, the governor earmarked more funds for ASF prevention and contingency plan.
As this developed, he made a call to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for the passage of an amended ASF ordinance imposing stiffer penalties for violators of the anti-ASF measures.
Furthermore, the governor issued a directive for the display of huge billboard in seaports and in the airport, as well as the distribution of information materials regarding ASF and the AI.
