The Pilipinas Shell Foundation Incorporated (PSFI) culminated its outreach to Tagbilaran

City as the foundation’s mission is to empower communities in environmental protection; health; arts, and livelihood.
Reports say Berlie Reyes of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipinas (KALIPI) Tagbilaran

Chapter received P200,000 from the foundation in financial assistance to be used as capital infusion to its plastic upcycling project.
Moreover, City Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) Ceasar Pelaez

aided the support given by PSFI for the material recovery facilities where a facility was each given to the 15 barangays coupled with bio-composting training.
Pelaez also recognized the PSFI for spearheading the mangrove planting activities along the shores of barangay Taloto.
“The assistance offered by the Pilipinas Shell Foundation Incorporated really came

at a better time. The programs implemented under their initiative proved to be crucial in revitalizing the environmental resources in the city. We will be forever grateful to the

assistance extended by the Pilipinas Shell Foundation to Tagbilaran City. Aside from elevating our environmental consciousness, their assistance provided concreteinterventions that addressed our environmental problems. We thank you for the fruitful

partnership and we are looking forward to working with you again,”Pelaez emphasized.

Mayor Jane Yap on the other hand said the city should be “moving further,” as she added that the #AsensoPaMore mantra is a way to encourage people to maximize their potential and strive to achieve success in life.

Mayor Jane Yap inducts new TCGEU officers

City Mayor Jane Yap led the induction of the newly-elected Tagbilaran City Government Employees Union (TCGEU) officers at the Bohol Tropics Resort on July 5, 2022 where a business meeting was held right after the induction rites together with Engr. Noel Datahan presiding over the discussion.
Important issues were addressed such as the training sessions concerning public sector unionism in partnership with the human resources department; the upcoming review of TCGEU’s operational plans including its constitution and by-laws; health insurance for the employees; Increase of the cash gift for retiring employees, and the building of TCGEU canteen at the City Hall.
The newly-elected TCGEU officers are as follows, President – Engr. Noel Datahan from the City Engineering Office; Vice-President – Ruby Casas from the General Services Office; Secretary – Suzette Aranas from the Sangguniang Panlungsod; Treasurer – Christine Apple Anora from the City Budget Office; Asst. Treasurer – Salome Yapac from the City Engineering Office; Auditor – Rhex Casas from the City Treasurer’s Office; Bookkeeper – Marites Rosas from the City Mayor’s Office; and Public Relations Officer – Roderick Virtudazo from the City Economic Enterprises.
The members of the Board of Trustees are Julieta Adlaon from the Local Civil Registrar, Airah Junerey Balatayo from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Shayne Beniga from the Human Resources Department, Robin Reyes Culpa from the City Health Office, Patrick Doria from the General Services Office, Antonio Hontonasos from the Permits and Licensing, Decima Paz from the Social Welfare Office, Louel Rotilles from the City Administrator’s Office, and Teofilita Tayona from the City Planning and Development Office.
It should be remembered that it was the administration of former Mayor John Geesnell Yap II who fully recognized the authority and mandate of the TCGEU, and as a result of this recognition and support, the group received its accreditation from the Civil Service Commission in March 2014 as the sole and exclusive negotiating agent on behalf of the Tagbilaran City Government employees. This paved the way for the employees being able to receive the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus.
