Gov. Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado has appointed four persons to be members of the board of directors of the Bohol Light Company Inc. and the Bohol Water Utilities Inc. representing the interest of the provincial government, according to reports.
Reports indicate that the four new appointees are to sit as members of the boards of directors of BLCI and BWUI replace the appointees of former Gov. Arthur Yap.
The provincial government owns 30% of the said companies as part of the joint venture agreement with the Salcon consortium forged back in 2000.
The governor appointed Argeo Melisimo and Norris Oculam as members of the board of directors of BLCI replacing former Provincial Administrator Alfonso Damalerio II and Amando Ligutan.
On the other hand, Aumentado picked out lawyer Doni Piquero and Dominic Butalid as members of the BWUI board of directors, reports indicate.
They are set to replace Ramon Alikpala and Francisco Pioquinto,  the father of former Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto.
It is also reported that the appointments of the four persons are not yet final as there is a need for a confirmation coming from the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) headed by Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite.
The appointees are expected to attend the next regular session of the SP on July 19, 2022 to present their  credentials to the province’s lawmakers.
