The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reported that the trade fair it produced, known as Mugnang Bol-anon, reaped P 7 million in revenues, according to a report of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

The fair known as Mugnang Bol-anon showcased the best in Boholano arts and crafts, including home decors, and furnishings, toys and gifts, wearables and loom wovens as well as food products which is held annually at the Island City Mall. This year the fair ran from July 18-23, 2022.

The 6-day trade fair had 62 exhibitors including 19 visual artists from the Tagbilaran City Council for Culture and Arts, the report mentions.

Before the pandemic, the fair attracted around 190’exhibitors with some coming from neighboring provinces and generated a little over P42.2 million in sales,  DTI Bohol Provincial Director Maria Soledad Balistoy said.

This year, the DTI decided to focus the trade fair to highlight products from local artisans.

Mugnang Bol-anon is the local DTI’s adoption of the national level direction to provide a platform to creative artists, according to the PIA report.

Earlier, the DTI released information that, considering the situation where only local manufacturers are in the exhibit, their revenue target would be around P3 million
