Robbery suspect gets killed in a shooting incident with police authorities

A robbery suspect was killed following a shooting incident with elements of Alicia police station on July 28, 2022, according to reports.

Police said that they engaged in a shootout with a certain Victor Aguilar, 41, of

Sagasay, Balilihan, Bohol. The person is believed to be one of the suspects in the series of robberies that happened in Bohol.

The police added that the suspect faces a multitude of criminal cases already filed in the courts.

The shooting incident happened in barangay Napo, Alicia where Aguilar allegedly engaged in a shootout with the local police.

Prior to the shooting incident, the police placed a routine checkpoint at barangay La Hacienda, Alicia. A person riding a motorcycle was flagged down for not wearing a helmet, which turned out to be the robbery suspect.

Instead, the suspect allegedly drew a firearm and fired at the police personnel at the checkpoint as the former escaped. The police then chased the suspect until barangay Napo, Alicia, it was at the said place the suspect got

hit.

The suspect sustained at least six gunshot wounds, which led to his death, the police report reveals.

The police, following an investigation after the shooting incident, found out that Aguilar matched the identity of one of the suspects of the series of robberies that happened in the province.

Moreover, the motorcycle which  the suspect used matched the one seen in the video footage of the robberies.

As this developed, Gov. Erico Aristole “Aris” Aumentado congratulated the police for their latest accomplishment in a Facebook post on July 29, 2022.
