The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Bohol Provincial Office headed by Provincial Director Maria Soledad L. Balistoy held its annual trade fair activity and at the same time the launching of Creative Bohol from July 18 to 23, 2022 at Island City Mall, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
The trade fair entitled “Mugnang Bol-anon” had the theme: “Showcase of Boholano
Creativity”, highlighted the creativity of Boholanos in the field of arts and crafts evident In the variety of food and non-food products sold by DTI-assisted micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Moreover, the fair became the platform to showcase Boholano talents during the
week-long fair.
The products sold by the MSMEs, which range from processed food to furniture and
other creative crafts, were the results of continuous product development initiatives of the agency under its One Town One Product (OTOP) Program.
In her message during the opening of the fair on July 18, 2022, Balistoy encouraged
everyone to support the products of our entrepreneurs and promote what the province of Bohol has to offer in terms of Boholano creativity.
This was supported by DTI 7 Regional Director Maria Elena C. Arbon who also challenged
the MSMEs to continue moving forward and take their respective businesses to another level through eCommerce and digitalization.
“The technology and talent is there, all we need is to understand how to fuse all of this
together so that we can provide new opportunities to our people”, she added.
Likewise, present during opening ceremony were Gov. Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado,
former DTI Assistant Secretary and now Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte, and Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Censoria C. Yap.
Among the highlights during the week-long trade fair include the cultural show by the
Tagbilaran City Council for the Culture and the Arts (TCCCA) on July 19, 2022, Pitong Sining of the Provincial Government of Bohol thru the Center for Culture and Arts Development (CCAD) on July 20, 2022 and the DTI Bohol’s Coffee Cupping event led
by quality Robusta graders and cuppers on July 22, 2022.
As of press time, the Mugnang Bol-anon trade fair has generated partial sales of P 7.5 million.
