City Mayor Jane Yap, Chief of Staff John Geesnell Yap, and Dr, Chris Rener Torralba led the blessing and official opening of the new office of the Tagbilaran City Waterworks System (TCWS).
The office is located at the Agricultural Promotions Center (APC) inside the City Hall Compound.
City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Cities for Enhanced Governance and Engagement (CHANGE) Coordinator Dr. Rosalinda Paredes, and City Economic Enterprise Head Bebiano Inting were also in attendance.
The TCWS Office is now open from Mondays to Saturdays from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon.
The City Government is continuously on the move to enhance the services of the TCWS.
The TCWS has been strict in the implementation of the proper billing collection of fees, which started during the tenure of former Mayor John Geesnell Yap II.
The financial position of the TCWS has improved due to the efficient collection implemented by the TCWS, according to Inting.
The improvement in the billing and collection system of the TCWS would not have been possible if it were not for the technical assistance of the USAIDD under Water and Sanitation Specialist Engr. Evelyn Sagun who provided the much-needed boost to enhance the collections efficiency of TCWS.
Moreover, to further enhance its capabilities, the TCWS also signed an agreement with Maynilad Water Academy where the latter provided a comprehensive technical training to TCWS personnel.
