Boholana police officer wins big in police, fire skills tilt

A Boholana police officer bagged medals in the World Police and Fire Games 2022 held in the Netherlands, according to reports.

Staff Sgt. Maria Caress Cenabre Arnejo, 34, of Tagbilaran City and presently assigned at the Bohol Tourist Police Office in Panglao, Bohol, won gold, silver and bronze medals in the said competition held at Rotterdam, the Netherlands from July 22 to 31, 2022.

Reports say that Arnejo bagged the gold in the Karate Kumite 30+ Kyu Belt Category, silver medal in the  30+ 10,000-meter run category, and copped the bronze medal in the karate kata Kyu Belt category.

Around 10,000 competitors from 70 countries joined the said competition featuring police personnel, customs police, firefighters and prison facility officers, the report adds.

The competition featured 63 sports events including cross fit, kit surfing, and athletics among others.
