Things to Know about Tooth Pericoronitis (Part 2)

This week, allow me to discuss the symptoms of pericoronitis.

There are various symptoms associated with pericoronitis. The symptoms can differ from case to case based on whether the condition is chronic or acute.
The overall symptoms of pericoronitis may include the following:
>Fever
>Pain
>Infection and inflammation
>Inflammation of the lymph nodes
>Pain extending to the jaw, neck, and cheek
>Pain from the gums around the wisdom tooth
>Difficulty in opening the mouth due to lockjaw
>Inflammation of the gum tissue due to the presence pus
>A bad taste because of pus
>Pus discharge
>Lockjaw
>Swelling of gum
>Pain when swallowing
>Severe pain on the back teeth

A person with pericoronitis may also have b

ad breath or halitosis, a dull or mild ache that lasts for 1-2 days, and a bad, bitter taste in the mouth due to pus.
