First district Rep. Edgar Chatto pushed for the agenda of Bohol during the pre-budget hearing involving the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Aug. 15, 2022, according to reports.
The solon said that he was able to meet DOLE Sec. Bienvenidon Laguesma during the said pre-budget hearing together with House Secretary General Regi Velasco and Majority Floor Leader Mannix Dalipe, the reports mention.
Chatto said that he raised several issues related to the Bohol agenda with the DOLE official.
Among the issues raised were the establishment of more training centers of the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) and improvement of the DOLE Bohol office including support services for mobility requirements.
The solon added the he also raised the concern regarding the consideration for the DOLE office in Bohol to be independent and separate from the office in Cebu in order to enhance enhance accessibility of DOLE & TESDA programs to Boholanos
Moreover, Chatto pushed for more allocation of labor-related programs such ss Tulong Pangkabuhayn Para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD), Government Internship Program (GIP) and the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), among others, the report adds.
