Aris talks to Globalport owner re expensive arrastre fees at Tagbilaran port

Gov. Aris Aumentado revealed that he has met with the owner of Globalport to discuss

the expensive arrastre fees at the Tagbilaran seaport.
In a post, Aumentado said that he was able to meet Rep Mike Romero, the owner of Globalport to discuss the expensive fees.

Globalport won in the bidding to operate the passenger terminal and the arrastre service at the Tagbilaran seaport. It has since took over the port operations back in May 2022.

It is reported that Romero apologized for the expensive fees that could create an impact on the goods being imported from other areas in the country.

Romero said the tariff was based on his company’s bid to take over the operations of the Tagbilaran seaport.

The port company owner said he is going to work with the Philippine Ports Authority to find a suitable solution to the high arrastre fees.
