Tagbilaran City mayor Jane Yap opened the festivities in the city for Linggo ng Kabataan on Aug. 12, 2022, according to a report from the City Media Bureau.
The Sangguniang Kabataan council members and barangay chairs from the city’s 15 barangays led the celebration of the launch of Linggo ng Kabataan or the Youth’s Week.
Mayor Yap urged the young people to unite and work towards inclusive sustainable development.
The mayor encouraged the youth to maximize their potentials as they are seen as the future leaders of the city.
“Your concerns and suggestions are welcome. If you may need assistance, we are all here for you. The City Youth and Development Office (CYDO) with Marbert Remolador and SK [Sangguniang Kabataan] Federated Chair Jose Floro Ringca will always be ready to help you” Mayor Yap added.
The various barangay SK have prepared unique activities throughout the month.
The activities range from sports competition, clean-up drives, arts and culture workshop, show of talents, skills training, and outreach services.
