University of Bohol (UB) students in aircraft structural maintenance will now have a place where they can have their apprenticeship following the signing of a pact between the University and Aviation Partnership Philippines Inc. To enhance the capability of its students in aircraft structural maintenance, the University of Bohol (UB) College of Engineering and Technology- Aircraft Maintenance Technology Department (CET-AMT) formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Aviation Partnership Philippines (A+) on structures apprenticeship program on August 12, 2022, according to a press release from the University.
The agreement was entered into by and between the UB through its President, Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III and Rico Ugdoracion, General Manager of Aviation Partnership Philippines, at the VP for Administration conference room.
Under the MOA, AMT students of the university are given the opportunity to take their apprenticeship at A+ maintenance facility in Pasay, Metro Manila.
The Aviation Partnership Philippines is a subsidiary facility owned by Cebu Pacific Air.
Ugdoracion is from Alburquerque, Bohol and is an alumnus of the UB AMT.
Meanwhile, Cadet 2nd Class Junriel Gonzaga of the UB Reserve Officers Training Corp Unit (ROTCU) recently topped the Advanced ROTC Academic Phase Training (ARAPT) Military Science 41-42 conducted ftom July 21 to August 9, 2022 by the Headquarters of the 702nd Community Defense Center based at Camp Gov. Esteban Bernido, barangay Dao , this city.
Gonzaga, a 3rd-year BS Criminology student from Tagbilaran, City, bested the other 123 trainees by garnering an average of 90.5 % out of the 100% maximum attainable points.
Aside from UB, other ROTC units which participated in the activity came from the Holy Name University, Trinidad Municipal College, Mater Dei of Tubigon, Batuan College, Bohol Northern Star College of Ubay, Bohol Institute of Technology – International College Main Campus,and Jagna Campus, Bohol Island State University campuses of Balilihan, Bilar, and Candijay.
Moreover, Lt. Col. Rey August, Community Defense Center Director, handed the certificate of merit to Gonzaga at the parade ground of Camp Bernido.
UBROTC unit is under the command of Lt. Col. Eduardo Malig-on, Commandant and Lt. Col. Lino Garsuta, Assistant Commandant. Other staff include Tactical Officers – Maj. Myrna Thea Hontanosas, 2nd Lt. Joel Salum, 2nd Lt. Eduardo Magnanaw; Tactical Non-Commission Officers – Msgt. Marcos Castro, Sgt. Marvin Jumawid, Sgt. Ivony Villarojo; and Administrative Non-Commission Officer – Msgt. Alan F. Dador.
