Tagbilaran police chief urges public to report crimes rather than post incidents on social media

LT. COL. REGIE REAL

Tagbilaran City police chief Lt. Col. Regie Real urged the public to report criminal activity to the police rather than posting the information about the crime on social media.

Real made the appeal during a radio interview over Open Forum on Aug. 23, 2022, hosted by Dave Albarado.

She lamented that possible crimes will not be solved if people would merely report incidents on social media.

The police chief added that it would be more prudent for people to contact the police using the hotline numbers.

Moreover, Real aired her appeal after she was asked by the program host on her reaction regarding the alleged kidnapping reports involving a van reportedly snatching minors in some areas in the province.

Meanwhile, the Tagbilaran City Police Station provided security in order to ensure the safety of students and teachers during the first day of classes on Aug. 22, 2022.

Real said that the police also provided free rides for students who are going to school.
