The Bohol Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) has approved the use of P2O million for intelligence purposes to support peace and order efforts.
The decision was reached during the recent PPOC meeting held on Aug. 25, 2022 at Camp Dagohoy.
The funds will be used by the provincial government to support programs against criminal elements, insurgency issues and other peace and order challenges, according to a report by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).
The members of the PPOC approved the use of the intelligence funds during the said meeting, which is the first one held under the new provincial administration.
The PPOC (chaired by Gov. Aris Aumentado) and its members meet to discuss issues in peace and order and organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The allocation of intelligence funds is mandated by the General Welfare Act, which orders the local government units to provide the said funds.
