Tagbilaran City gets 2 new garbage trucks

The local government unit (LGU) of Tagbilaran has procured 2 new garbage trucks to enhance the ability of the city to collect garbage.

As this developed, City Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) Ceasar Pelaez and Solid Waste Management Office (SWMO) head Lito Taladua thanked City Mayor Jane Yap and Chief of Staff John Geesnell Yap II for the new garbage trucks. The trucks were turned over to the SWMO. 

City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Estella Margate was also present during the turnover ceremonies of the new garbage trucks.

Environmental protection has always been one of the priorities of the City Government. This can be seen in the intentional initiatives that were launched to secure the integrity of Tagbilaran City’s environmental assets. 

Tagbilaran City was able to safely close the Dampas dumpsite as mandated by law.

At the same time, the city government also built a materials recovery facility in order to recycle and reuse waste products collected in the various barangays in the city.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 7 (DILG-R7) recognized the hardwork and dedication of local government unit (LGU) of Tagbilaran during the department’s province-wide meeting held on August 16, 2022 at Bohol Tropics Resort, according to the City Media Bureau.

Tagbilaran City was given a citation for full compliance after attaining 100% in the encoding and uploading of pertinent 2016-2020 projects’ data.

The data compliance is a product of the diligence and commitment of the concerned officials and personnel of the city. 

City Accountant Eleanor Beniga received the recognition for Tagbilaran City.

Prior to the awarding ceremony, the DILG conducted an orientation and hands-on training among the personnel of the LGUs in Bohol.

The said orientation taught the personnel of the LGUs the proper filling up of forms needed for the encoding of the data regarding various infrastructure projects in the database.
