First District Rep. Edgar Chatto reported that Supreme Court Associate Justice Midas Marquez assured the former that the bidding for the detailed architectural and engineering design (DAED) for the new Hall of Justice had already been conducted.
Chatto provided the information during an interview over “Newsmakers ug Uban Pa” radio program on Sept. 1, 2022 anchored by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
Chatto said that he asked Marquez about the update on the construction of a new Hall of Justice to be located at the foot of Mt. Banat-i in barangay Bool Tagbilaran City.
The lot for the new site of the Hall of Justice was donated by the Provincial Government during the time of Chatto as governor.
The solon said that the contract for DAED will be signed by the Supreme Court and the contractor soon.
It is expected that the civil works on the new Hall of Justice will start next year, Chatto bared.
The congressman said that there is a need for a new Hall of Justice as the current one is no longer able to provide healthy working environment to court officials and employees.
