The League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Bohol chapter elected on Sept. 2, 2022, Buenavista mayor Dave Duallo as its new President.
The elections, done at the Henann Resort in Panglao town, indicate that the new executive vice president is Pres. Carlos P. Garcia mayor Fernando Estavilla.
Both Duallo and Estavilla ran unopposed, the reports add.
Prior to the elections, Duallo and Estavilla agreed on a term sharing scheme. Thus, Duallo will serve for 18 months while Estavilla will be the president for a year and six months.
The term of the new LMP-Bohol officials lasts until 2025.
Duallo is a 2nd-term mayor of Buenavista and is still eligible to run for a third term in 2025. On the other hand, Estavilla is now in his 3rd and final term as mayor of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia town. Both are allies of Gov. Aris Aumentado.
Duallo replaced as LMP president former Dauis mayor Marietta Sumaylo who is now a vice mayor.
In an interview Duallo thanked his fellow mayors for the trust and confidence they gave him by electing him to the top position at the LMP-Bohol. Duallo was the vice president for 2nd district of the LMP from 2019 to 2022.
“Akong kinasing kasing nga pasalamat sa tanang mayor sa Province of Bohol sa ilang unanimous, overwhelming support nga gihatag kanako as the new LMP president,” Duallo said in the interview.
He promised to help the mayors solve the concerns of their towns. Duallo thinks he can help the mayors by acting as a conduit to the provincial and national governments and bring their concerns to the right agencies.
“Ang atong task is to look after the welfare of each mayor kay nagkalainlain ang kahimtang sa kada mayor and I would like to make [LMP] as a family,” he told The Bohol Tribune.
Other officers elected were Cortes mayor Lynn Iven Lim as 1st district vice president, Mayor Constantino Reyes of Ubay as 2nd district vice president and Sevilla mayor Juliet Dano as 3rd district vice president.
Moreover, Mabini mayor Ongie Grace Lim was elected as secretary-general, Anda mayor Angelina Simacio as asst. secretary, San Isidro mayor Diosdado Gementiza as treasurer, and Dimiao mayor as the asst. treasurer.
Randolph Ang and the auditor is San Miguel mayor Ian Gil Mendez.
The public relations officers (PRO) for the 1st district are Mayor Romulo Manuta of Maribojoc and Mayor Roman Bullen of Dauis.
Moreover, Danao mayor Jose Cepedoza and Mayor Germinio Relampagos of Dagohoy are the PROs for the 2nd district.
For the 3rd district the PROs are Mayor Jess Baja of Garcia Hernandez, Mayor Al Taculad of Duero and Loboc mayor Raymond Jala.
The members of the board of directors are (1st district) Baclayon mayor Alvin Uy, Panglao mayor Edgardo Arcay, and Corella mayor Juan Manuel Lim; (2nd district) Clarin mayor Eugenio Ibarra, Getafe mayor Cary Camacho and Sagbayan mayor Restituto Suarez; (3rd district) Pilar mayor Wilson Pajo, Valencia mayor Dionisio Neil Balite, Bilar mayor Norman Palacio and Loay mayor Hilario Ayuban.
