About 31 civil society organizations (CSO) representing the sectors of labor, urban poor, healthcare, academe, business, transport, fisherfolks, women, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) attended the two-day workshop that led to the crafting of the Comprehensive Development Planning and Executive Legislative Agenda (CDP-ELA).
Reports say that the CDP-ELA was crafted in the presence of city government officials and members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP).
A strategic direction is needed to steer Tagbilaran City towards the right path moving forward.
City Mayor Jane Yap led the two-day planning workshop discussing the priority programs of the City Government in the future.
Mayor Yap’s priority programs are focused on the areas of health, education, digitalization, youth, and livelihood.
Meanwhile the Legislative Agenda of the 15th Sangguniang Panlungsod, as outlined by City Vice-Mayor Adam Relson Jala, is based on forging ordinances that promotes the care for the environment, safety, capacity-building, and disaster mitigation.
The City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) headed by Engr. Estella Margate with technical assistance from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Cities for Enhanced Governance and Engagement (CHANGE) provided the much needed help in the crafting of the development plan.
USAID-CHANGE Coordinator Dr. Rosalinda Paredes and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regina Bastes lectured about the significance of the mandated plans for local governance.
Following the initial round of activities the Local Development Investment Plan (LDIP) was crafted. The LDIP spelled out the priority projects of the City Government for the next three years with the corresponding budget allocation.
