Balilihan SB plans on stricter ordinance vs. littering

Balilihan vice mayor Trisha Chatto

The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Balilihan is looking at passing an ordinance imposing stiffer penalties against persons who will be littering or who will intentionally leave their trash in any part of the town.

This was disclosed by Balilihan vice mayor Trisha Chatto in a radio interview over Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa on Sept. 6, 2022 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

The vice mayor said that there have been instances when non-Balllihan resisents would leave sacks of trash and garbage in forested areas and on bridges.

There are times where authorities would be able to accost the said persons who are non-residents of Balilihan trying to leave at least a sack of trash, the vice mayor narrated.

These situations are prompting the local legislature to craft a stricter ordinance to penalize people for littering.
