“Spider-Man: No Way Home” Re-Showing at Screenville
After its Philippine release last January, Columbia Pictures announced that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is coming back to local cinemas this September, and it is now showing again at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
The updated version of the film features 11 extra minutes of new and never-before-seen footage and other bonus extended scenes that weren’t part of the original theatrical cut. Many were deprived of the opportunity to experience the movie in the big screen, especially children who weren’t allowed to go outside their homes.
For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his superhero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk.
When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.

“Where the Crawdads Sing” at Screenville Cinemas
A mysterious girl who lives alone in the marshlands of North Carolina becomes the prime suspect of a high-profile murder in the film adaptation of Delia Owen’s best-selling novel of the same title, “Where the Crawdads Sing”, which will official open on Wednesday, September 14, after a two-day sneak preview last September 5 and 6, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Abandoned by her family, Kya (Daisy Edgar-Jones) lives all by herself in the wilds learning how to survive from the land and the creatures around her. Shunned by the townsfolk because of her being an oddity, she is isolated from her community and stays away from people most of the time. When a man is found dead, Kya is the suspect and tried for murder. As the case unfolds, the verdict becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that lay within the marsh. In case you didn’t know, a crawdad is a colloquial name for a crayfish, a freshwater crustacean related to the lobster. Despite its name, it’s not actually a fish, nor a shrimp. We call it “takla” here in Bohol where they thrive in mangroves, or marshes with brackish water. Crawdads don’t exactly sing, but they can produce sounds through a thin appendage that draws water and air through their gills.
