“Kuya Agilas” plant trees marking Sandugo Eagles’ 4th year anniversary

“Kuya Agilas” planted molave and narra trees marking the 4th Anniversary of the Bohol Sandugo Eagles Club, the founding chapter in Bohol of the Fraternal Order of Philippine Eagles, at barangay Moto Norte, Loon on March 10, 2022, reports say.

The club thanked the Bohol Environment and Management Office (BEMO) for the seedlings used in the planting activity.

Former Tagbilaran City vice mayor Jose Antonio Veloso and incumbent Provincial Board Member Venzencio Arcamo lead the Sandugo Eagles as president and vice president, respectively.

The club was organized and chartered on September 5, 2018.

The rest of the Sandugo Eagles founding officers and members are Anthony Damalerio, Arneilito Olandria, Panfilo Bumaat, Ariel Angalot, Frederick Raut, Zenon Adria Sanvictores, Eduardo Ventura, Apollo John Bernaldez, James Darunday, Marnilou Ayuban, Victoriano Torres III, Ramon Arsenal, Allen Ray Piezas, Leo Pabotoy, Jose Rey Culpa, Elvi Peter Relampagos, Agustinus Gonzaga, Ricky Masamayor, Greggy Gatal, Jonas Cacho, Simon Leo Jadulco, Peter Naron and this article’s author Ven Arigo.

Moreover, the group had a thanksgiving prayer led by Fr. James Darunday in Tagbilaran City before travelling to Loon, where they also discussed the club activity this coming Christmas and first membership expansion slated for next year.

The tree planting activity was also in support of and response to the climate change mitigation advocacy of the government and the Church.

Tagbilaran Bishop Alberto Uy declared September 5 to October 5, 2022 as the Season of Creation.

Meanwhile, Bohol First District Rep. Edgar Chatto, who was granted by the national Eagles leadership the honorary membership to the Sandugo Eagles during the latter’s chartering here four years ago, is by coincidence, the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Climate Change.
