Tagbilaran City bags award in nutrition prog. implementation

Tagbilaran City received major recognition from the Grand Nutrition Award held at the 

Summit Galleria Suites in Cebu City on September 16, 2022, a report from the City Media Bureau said.
Tagbilaran City got top scores in its implementation of nutrition laws and policies, governance 

and organizational structure, and local nutrition committee management. 
Barangay Dampas and Barangay Bool also were cited for their respective nutrition programs.

Barangay Dao received the award for the 2021 Outstanding Barangay in Region 7 while Barangay 

Nutrition Scholar Juanita Hinay from Barangay Bool is the Regional Outstanding 

Barangay Nutrition Scholar in 2021.
City Nutritionist Rey Delos Santos thanked the generous and unwavering support of Mayor Jane Yap, 

Chief of Staff John Geesnell Yap II and City Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Jeia Pondoc, 

including all the barangay nutrition council officers.
Grand Nutrition Awards is a yearly awarding by the Department of Health (DOH) through the 

National Nutrition Council (NNC) in region-7 for the best performing Local Nutrition Committee in the barangay, municipal, city and provincial levels.

City GSO cops award for energy use efficiency

The City General Services Office of the local government unit (LGU) of Tagbilaran copped a 5-star rating 

in the implementation of the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) in accordance with the implementation of Republic Act 11285 or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act of 2019. 
Mayor Jane Yap together with Chief of Staff John Geesnell Yap II and City General Services Office Head 

Dr. Chris John Torralba received the Energy Audit Rating from the team of assessors composed of representatives from the Department of Science and Technology – Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI), Department of Energy (DOE), and Department of Science and Technology Region VII.
The DOST and DOE conducted a one-day assessment of the City Hall Building. Out of a total score of 100, 

Tagbilaran City received 98 score, which is equivalent to a 5 Star rating and Grade A.
LGU Tagbilaran is among the top 10 out of the 65 cities and municipalities audited throughout the country.
