Dental Crowns (Part 4)

Crowns last for about a decade but with care they may last for 25 years or even a lifetime.

It’s therefore impressive that these crowns are made to last even in situations where they face abuse and neglect can lead to either the destruction of the crown itself.

Teeth with crowns could still get cavities as the roots could still decay away

if you don’t brush your teeth or floss regularly. So, It is recommended to gargle with antiseptic mouthwash for good measure.
Crowns could also come loose if you attempt to use your teeth to tear something

open, or get punched on the face or get hit by a weapon.
It’s also possible for the cement to get loose, requiring them to re-cement the crown. The crown itself, even after 15-25 years of careful maintenance, will break

down sooner or later.
Dentists use crowns for multitasking purposes since they’re all-around prosthodontics.

Crowns can cosmetically improve your smile and help you regain your bite.
